Bionicle Comic For LEGO UK Magazine

This is a comic I made way back in January/February for the UK version of LEGO Club Magazine.

*Image removed by me. Gotta keep the LEGO images down to 3 at a time per LEGO's request.

I have had a request to show a sample of the upcoming Challenge of Mata Nui book but I don't know if I am allowed to show that yet. I'll ask my guys at Scholastic and see what they have to say. This magazine comic should satisfy you until then. The new book has a slightly different feel because of how I did the colors to synchronize with the new CG movie.

Speaking of the movie. I got to see about 10 minutes of it the last time I was at LEGO and all I can say is WOW! I saw the very first Bionicle movie and it was just so-so but this new Mata Nui movie is really incredible. I can't wait to see the whole thing on Blue Ray!!!!!!

Thank for requesting. :)
Yeah, I am looking forward to seeing the movie as well. Greg Farshtey, the author of BIONICLE books/comics, also said that what he has seen so far in the movie looks more incredible than previous BIONICLE movies.

Hey, is the movie really coming out for Blu-ray or is that just your assumption?

I don't know for sure, I was just assuming it would be on Blue ray. Everything comes out on BD now so it seems silly that it wouldn't. I did just look it up on Amazon and they only had it listed for DVD. That would be a bummer since I find it hard to watch DVD stuff now.

The colours seem to work well for the sets too, but they do look very similar in the movie so I guess it all works out.
Can I ask what about the movie impressed you compared to the first one? A lot of us didn't like Mask of Light very much, and from what we've seen, Legend Reborn does seem to look better.

The models were very detailed with grungy textures that really added some realism. I also liked the environments and lighting- very nice! Finally I thought the mouth animations were superb with sophisticated morph target and on spot syncing.

UPDATE: I got an official response about posting a preview image for the new book...I am not allowed to post any of the art from the book until after the book has been released.

That's the way it is with a lot of publishers so I am not at all surprised by the response. Only a few months left to go anyway...
